Not only is the Wooden Coaster one of the oldest rides ever built, but it is also identified as the most traditional family attraction. It is a ‘must have’ for every park! Since the first “Woodie” was installed at Marriott’s Great America, IL in 1980, Intamin has delivered more than a dozen of these ‘standard’ units around the world.  

Unfortunately, the original design of the Wooden Coaster is also known for its high cost of maintenance, thus Intamin created a new technology in which to produce these popular coasters.
