| Not only is the Wooden Coaster one of the oldest rides ever built, but it is also identified as the most traditional family attraction. It is a ‘must have’ for every park! Since the first “Woodie” was installed at Marriott’s Great America, IL in 1980, Intamin has delivered more than a dozen of these ‘standard’ units around the world. Unfortunately, the original design of the Wooden Coaster is also known for its high cost of maintenance, thus Intamin created a new technology in which to produce these popular coasters. The improvements are observed by the guests in the resulting smoothness of the ride and by the park owners in the drastically reduced maintenance and replacement costs. Utilizing the new technology, the Woodie is greatly enhanced in terms of speed and thrill factors, enriching the riders’ experience. Additionally, for the park, the prefabricated and labelled parts improve accuracy while decreasing installation time. Consequently, though the initial investment is perhaps higher than before, the total cost of ownership is significantly lower. The unique track design is patented and exclusively employed by Intamin alone. | Technical Data
