Just In time for the start of the new season, Gröna Lund in Stockholm, Sweden opened Europe’s first SKY JUMP named “IKAROS” to the public.
In April 2017, PortAventura World opened its new theme park named Ferrari Land. Intamin is honored, being part of the new authentic Ferrari Land experience with the iconic attraction and record breaking LSM LAUNCH COASTER named “RED FORCE”. With its height and speed this attraction is Europe’s unrivaled HIGHEST and FASTEST roller coaster.
On March 29th 2017, Ferrari World in Abu Dhabi opened the heart-pounding LSM driven REVERSE FREE FALL COASTER named “TURBO TRACK”.
At the end of September 2016 Warner Bros. Movie World at Gold Coast, Australia opened the new “DC Super Villains Unleashed” area. The signature attraction of this extensively themed area is Intamin’s all new Suspended Twin Hammer, named “Doomsday Destroyer”.
The SKY JUMP is a highly unusual attraction, which is the first of its kind to offer the guests an unforgettable sky diving experience. The development of this very unique attraction was only possible by using a special magnetic braking system designed by INTAMIN. This patented brake system allowed INTAMIN to create this absolutely unique free fall tower attraction.
At end of September 2016, Intamin’s newest LSM Launch Coaster, named “Soaring with Dragon”, opened at Hefei Wanda Cultural Tourism City as the park’s signature attraction.One of the unique features of this LSM Launch Coaster is a ‘Swing Launch’. Utilizing Intamin’s most powerful LSM drive system, the trains are first launched forwards into the first part of the loop, then launched backwards reaching the 60 meters high vertical tower, along which the riders experience weightlessness and finally launched forwards again
After the great success of “Formula Rossa”, the World’s fastest Roller Coaster which opened in 2010, Ferrari World wanted once again to introduce a record breaking ride. But this time, they were looking for a coaster themed and designed around the history of the famous Ferrari brand. Count Francesco Baracca’s mother is actually behind the story of Ferrari’s logo.
